About the Department


Department of Tamil was started in the year 1969.  The Department has efficient staff members who are constantly motivating students in academics and extra curricular activities.  The Department initiated the Reading Habit campaign by organising a Book Fair for the students of schools and colleges in Vellore District. Through Seetha Kathi Tamil Ilakkiya Mandram Tirukkural Celebration day was conducted for which World famous poet Erode Tamil Anban was the chief guest.  The Department conducts  Essay, Oratorical, Drawing, Quiz, Poetry competition at Intra College Level and District Level.  Poetry workshop is organised by the department to inculcate writing habit among the student community.

Department Association


2018-2019

Oratorical and Essay Writing competitions were conducted as a part of our 50th College Day Celebrations in Urdu, Tamil and English on 27 February 2019 for boys and girls separately. About 100 students participated in the competitions. Dr. A. Meera maitheen was the coordinator of the event.

2017-2018

Oratorical and Essay Writing competitions were conducted as a part of our 50th College Day Celebrations in Urdu, Tamil and English on 20 March 2018 for boys and girls separately. About 100 students participated in the competitions. Dr. A. Meeramaitheen was the coordinator of the event.

2016-2017

Oratorical and Essay Writing competitions were conducted as a part of our 48th College Day Celebrations in Urdu, Tamil and English on 7 March 2017 for boys and girls separately. About 100 students participated in the competitions Prof. L. Azeez Ahmed and Prof. A. Shafee Ahmed Khan were the coordinators of the competitions.
