Association Activities


2020-2021

One day Virtual Workshop on “English for Career” organized by the English Association was conducted on 24 May 2021. The inaugural session was presided by the Principal i/c Dr. K. H. Kaleemullah. Mrs. M. A. Uzefa Rasheeda, Vice-President of the English Assocaition was the convener of the Workshop. Mrs. P. J. Sadia Parveen delivered the welcome address. A special lecture was delivered by Dr. A. Shafee Ahmed Khan, Prof. Incharge Shift I and Head, P G & Research Department of English. In his address he said the importance of English language in building better career. Mr. Ashraf Ali Khan, Asst Prof of English, C Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam was the resource person. He said that 4 skills are needed for the development of English language. Mr, A. Noorul Ameen, Head, Department of Corporate Secretaryship, delivered the Valedictory Address. Mr. U. Thiyagarajan delivered the Vote of Thanks. All the participants were awarded e-certificates.

2019-2020

A special function was conducted on 26 February 2020. Dr. Pallavan, Assistant professor, Department of English, Thiruvalluvar University was the chief guest and addressed the students. Dr. M. Mohamed Yunus presided over the meeting. Dr. A. Shafee Ahmed Khan spoke during the occasion. Prof. P. J. Sadia Parveen was the convener of the program.
FACULTIES OF LANGUAGE

2018-2019

Oratorical and Essay Writing competitions were conducted as a part of our 50th College Day Celebrations in Urdu, Tamil and English on 27 February 2019 for boys and girls separately. About 100 students participated in the competitions. Dr. A. Meeramaitheen was the coordinator of the event. A special program was organized on "Influence of Literature in Developing Communication Skills" on 27 February 2019. Prof. I Angelin Nirmala, Assistant Professor of English, Muthurangam Government Arts College, Vellore was the Chief Guest. Prof. Incharge of Shift I Dr. M. Mohammed Yunus presided over the function. Prof. Incharge Shift II Dr. A. Shafee Ahmed Khan spoke on the occasion about the importance of communication for better future. Many students from various departments attended the function. Prof. P. J. Sadia Parveen was the convener of the program.

2017-2018

Under the auspices of English association, Department of English conducted a Special Programme on 23 March 2018 at 3 p.m. at Syed Ahmed Khan Convention Hall in our College. Dr. A.Yuvaraj, Assistant Professor, Department of English, GTM College, Gudiyattam was the chief guest and delivered a lecture on "Effective Communication and its Impact". Dr. P. M. Aadil Ahmed, Principal of our college presided over the function. Prof. A. Shafee Ahmed Khan delivered a special address. Prof. K. Suganthi introduced the Chief Guest. Prof P. J. Sadia Parveen, Vice-president, English Association delivered the Welcome Address and Prof U. Thiyagarajan proposed the Vote of Thanks.

2016-2017

A special program "4 Centuries of Shakespeare" was conducted on 3 August 2016 at 3.00 pm. Dr. A. S. Mohammed Rafee, Former Head, PG & Research Department of English was the chief guest and spoke on "Life & Works of Shakespeare" Prof A. Shafee Ahmed Khan, Head, PG & Research Dept of English was the convener of the programme.A special programe was conducted on 22 March 2017. Dr. S. Abdullah Sha Assistant Professor of English, Islamiah College (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi was the chief guest and delivered a lecture on "Communication Skills - A Challenge for Students". Prof. A. Shafee Ahmed Khan and Prof. P.J. Sadia Parveen were the conveners of the program.
